franz presents a series of tote bags created in collaboration with graphic design studios we’ve worked with over the years. Each studio was invited to create a design inspired by the theme #morethanapplesandcows. This second piece was created by Studio typeklang.

“I liked the idea of combining something purely typographical with something hand-drawn, more gestural, more personal. We have a background that pays homage to Swiss-style “konkrete poesie” and an illustrative layer where I recreated the word MORE by hand, starting from pieces of cow hide… It’s interesting that the M is also a mountain and the O resembles an apple. It’s all a reference, even the inverted R, which refers to the FRANZMAGAZINE logo…”
