ROLLING CULTURE: South Tyrol’s Skateboard History
€20.00
50 years on four wheels: Rolling Culture traces the evolution of South Tyrol’s skateboarding scene from the mid 1970s to today. What began as a handful of teenagers hacking together DIY decks from skis and roller-skate trucks has grown into one of South Tyrol’s most vibrant micro-scenes – a culture shaped by asphalt, friendship, rebellion and an unshakable belief in doing things your own way.
This book brings together more than 100 voices from across five decades: pioneers of the 1970s surf-on-asphalt era, the punk-driven crews of the 80s, the explosive 90s generation, the shop owners, photographers and community-builders of the 2000s, and the skaters pushing the scene today.
Interviews, statements, archive and current photographs, flyers and personal memories come together to form a cultural document that is both, raw and affectionate – and the first comprehensive publication on South Tyrol’s Skateboard History.
Curated by Bunker BZ and Fly Leifers/Laives, in collaboration with Papperlapapp, Kuba and Sk8Project, and supported by the local youth services, Rolling Culture is both a tribute and a time capsule: a book about style, streets, bruises, belonging – and a scene that has always reinvented itself.
